South Korea: Ferro Alloy Imports Up by 14% M-o-M in Feb’18

According to the South Korean customs, the country has witnessed an increase of 14% M-o-M in its Ferro Alloy imports.

In Feb’18, South Korea imported a total of 0.08 MnT Ferro Alloys against 0.07 MnT in Jan’18. However, on yearly basis, there has not been any change as South Korea imported 0.08 MnT in Feb’17 as well.

In Feb’18, Korea imported 0.05 MnT of Ferro Chrome, 0.02 MnT Ferro Silicon, and 0.02 MnT Silico Manganese. South Korea registered a substantial increase of 100% M-o-M in its Silico Manganese imports, while Ferro Chrome and Ferro Silicon imports were stable in contrast to the previous month.

South Africa being the largest Ferro Alloy exported to South Korea witnessed a decrease of 0.01 MnT in its exports and came parallel to Indian export quantity at 0.02 MnT, while China, Malaysia, and Kazakhstan exported 0.01 Mnt each. South Korean imports witness an increase of 0.01 MnT from Malaysia as the latter mainly focuses on the Asian regions for its Ferro Alloy realization.
