Taiwan has recorded a decline in imports of 42% M-o-M to 1.34 MnT in Oct’17 as against 2.3 MnT in Sep’17. The Y-o-Y witnessed a decline of 38% in Oct’17 as against 2.15 MnT in Oct’16.
During Jan-Oct’17 , the country has seen an increase of 10% to 20.78 MnT as compared to 18.84 MnT to the same period previous year.
The Non-agglomerated ore (Lumps and Fines) witnessed a decline of 44% to 1.07 MnT in Oct’17 as against 1.92 MnT in Sep’17. It has also shows a decline of 43% in Y-o-Y imports as against 1.88 MnT in Oct’16.
Agglomerated ore (pellets and concentrates) imports were recorded a decrease of 27% M-o-M to 0.27 MnT in Oct’17 as against 0.37 MnT in Sep’17. However, the Y-o-Y iron ore imports in Oct’17 witnessed no change as compared to Oct’16.

Taiwan’s iron ore import in Oct’17 was recorded highest from Australia which stood at 0.99 MnT, followed by Brazil at 0.35 MnT.
