Dispatches of chrome ore by Odisha miners have increased by around 26% in Nov’17 against Oct’17.
Odisha contributes entirely towards Indian Chrome Ore production. TATA Steel, being, one of the largest miners in the region dispatched 92,998 MT of chrome ore in Nov’17 against 77,631 MT in Oct’17. The company has witnessed a substantial increase of about 20% in the dispatch of the commodity on M-o-M basis. TATA Steel held 18,329 MT for captive consumption in Nov’17 which is more than 150% of what it was in Oct’17.
OMC also recorded a substantial increase of 43% M-o-M in its Nov’17 Chrome Ore dispatches. OMC dispatched 90,549 MT of Chrome Ore in Nov’17 against 63,172 MT in Oct’17. Saurabhil Chromite Mines also registered a marginal increase of 2% while B.C. Mohanty & Sons witnessed a decrease of 7% on M-o-M basis in Nov’17.
