Trade statistics released by the fourth largest iron ore exporter Ukraine customs shows that the iron ore exports by the country were recorded at 3.13 MnT in Sep’17.
The iron ore exports registered increase of 1% M-o-M in Sep’17, as against 3.09 MnT in Aug’17. The Y-o-Y change in Sep’17 witnessed a marked increase of 19% compared to Sep’16.
The Y-o-Y change from Jan-Sep’17 of the country witnessed a decline of 3% to 28.91 MnT as compared to 29.89 MnT in the same period previous year.
The Non-agglomerated ore (Lumps and Fines) witnessed a decline of 11% to 1.68 MnT in Sep’17 as against 1.89 MnT in Aug’17. However, the Y-o-Y exports recorded a hike of 4% in Sep’17 as against 1.61 MnT in Sep’16.
Agglomerated ore (pellets and concentrates) exports recorded an increase of 22% to 1.46 MnT in Sep’17 as against 1.2 MnT in Aug’17. It was up 42% Y-o-Y in Sep’17 as compared to Sep’16 which stood at 1.03 MnT.

China continues to remain the largest iron ore importer from Ukraine in the month of Sep’17 to 0.67 MnT followed by Czech Republic (0.47 MnT), Slovakia (0.43 MnT), and Poland at 0.36 MnT.
