Thailand Billet Imports Decline 50% in October 2017.

As per recent released data by Thailand customs it is observed that the nation has imported about 90,000 MT Billet in October 2017.

The imports have registered slips to half (50% M-o-M) in Oct’17 against 180,000 MT in Sep’17. During Oct’17, Japan has exported approximately more than 55% (50,000 MT) of Billet to Thailand.

On yearly calculations, in Oct’17 imports registered a decline of 74.28% against 0.35 MnT in Oct’16.

Coming to total imports in Jan-Oct’17, the nation has imported about 1.59 MnT Billet; down by 56% as compared to 3.61 MnT in the same preceding last year.

In the duration of Jan-Oct’17 – Iran, Japan & Brazil are the major Billet exporter to Thailand which exported about 0.63 MnT (39.64%), 0.31 MnT (19.39%) & 0.11 MnT (6.80%), respectively.

Presently, the export offers of Billet (Size-150*150 mm) are assessed at USD 450-460/MT FoB India.

India continues to remain the largest Pig iron supplier to Thailand.

In 2017 (Jan-Oct) – India, Brazil & Vietnam was the major pig iron exporter to Thailand which exported about 160,000 MT (54.15%), 40,000 MT (14.64%) & 20,000 MT (7.89%), respectively.

While in October 2017, it is observed that the nation has imported only 10,000 MT. Prior to this, in the month of Sep’17, no major import has been recorded by the nation.
