According to the latest customs data, Turkey flat steel imports which includes 7208 (HR coils /Plates), 7209 (CR coils), 7225 (Electrical sheets), 7210/7212(GP/GC) has imported 0.84 MnT in Sep’17 which was 0.66 MnT in Aug’17. Thus nation’s flat steel imports have shown drastic growth of 27%,on monthly basis in Sep’17 against previous month.
On yearly basis Turkey flat steel imports registered two fold growth in Sep’17 as compared to 0.56 MnT in Sep’16.
During the first nine months of 2017,country’s flat steel imports declined by 3% to 5.89 MnT against 6.06 MnT in consecutive time frame of previous year.

Russia stood the largest flat steel exporter to Turkey in Sep’17-Russia was the major flat steel exporter to Turkey and has exported 2.24 MnT of flat steel (which contributes for 38% of share) in the tenure of Jan-Sep’17.Other major flat steel exporting countries to Turkey in Jan-Sep’17 includes Ukraine stood at 0.5 MnT,France 0.49 MnT and South Korea at 0.38 MnT.
However on monthly basis Russia flat steel exports assessed at 0.21 MnT which increased by 50% against 0.14 MnT made in previous month.Besides this other major countries include Ukraine,France,South Korea and Romania.
