Ukraine, the world’s third-largest Pig iron exporter, has exported the highest volume of pig iron in Aug’17 since Jan’17.
As per recent data released by the Department State Statistics Service of Ukraine, it is observed that the nation has exported about 340,000 MT Pig Iron in August 2017.
The exports have registered a rise of 25.92% M-o-M in Aug’17 against 270,000 MT in Jul’17. Prior to this, on monthly basis in Jul’17 it increased more than 140% against 110,000 MT in Jun’17.
Coming to total exports in the duration of CY17 (Jan-Aug), the nation has exported about 1.45 MnT Pig Iron.
United States continues to remain the largest Pig iron buyer of Ukraine –
In the month of August 2017, United States has imported more than 52% (180,000 MT) of Ukrainian Pig Iron. In line out of total Pig iron exports from the nation in CY17, United States procured approximately 60% of total quantity.
In CY17 (Jan-Aug) – United States, Italy & Turkey was the major Pig Iron importer of Ukraine which imported about 870,000 MT (59.75%), 310,000 MT (21.51%) & 120,000 MT (8.17%), respectively.
Presently, the export offers of steel grade Pig Iron are assessed at USD 330-340/MT FoB Russia, USD 350-360/MT FoB Brazil & at USD 325-345/MT FoB India.
