Dispatches of chrome ore by Odisha miners have decreased by around 18% in Oct’17 against Sep’17.
Odisha contributes entirely towards Indian Chrome Ore production. TATA Steel, being, one of the largest miners in the region dispatched 77,631 MT of chrome ore in Oct’17 against 73,476 MT in Sep’17. The company has witnessed a marginal increase of about 6% in the dispatch of the commodity on M-o-M basis. TATA Steel held 6,391 MT for captive consumption in Oct’17 which is around 31% lower than it was in Sep’17.
OMC, on the other hand, recorded a substantial decrease of 39% M-o-M in its Oct’17 Chrome Ore dispatches. OMC dispatched 63,172 MT of Chrome Ore in Oct’17 against 102,769 MT in Sep’17. Jindal Stainless was the major buyer of Chrome Ore from OMC in Sep’17 which also recorded a fall of 43% in its purchase.
