United States, one of the world’s largest Coal producers, produced about 18.2 million metric short tons (mmst) of Coal by the end of week 12 (15-21 Mar’15).
According to EIA’s (US Energy Information Agency) latest report, the production is about 2% lower than the last week. Weekly production of the country has declined by 8% than the production estimate of the comparable week in 2014.
East of the Mississippi River produced about 7.6 mmst (declined by 2.6% week on week) and West of the Mississippi River produce totaled to10.6 mmst (dropped by 2% week on week), according to weekly figures released by the EIA, on 26 Mar’15.
The country produced about 210.9 mmst YTD Coal that includes Coking, Non-coking & Anthracite, is about 3% lower when compared to YTD Coal production in 2014.

US Feb’15 Coal output fell by 17% as compared to the previous month and about 70 mmst of Coal was produced at end of the month. Feb’15 production of the country also declined by 6% as compared to the production in Feb’14.
