2nd phase Shah Commission hearing from today

Bhubaneswar: The Justice M. B. Shah Commission of inquiry has summoned 40 miners to present their cases as it is scheduled to start the second phase hearing of the illegal mining cases at the Gujarat state guest house at Ahmadabad from today. The hearing will be done for as many as 57 mines of the 40 miners.

The inquiry commission is expected to hear mostly on the issues like current status of the mining lease, Forest and Environment Clearances, mining outside the lease area, mineral export outside the state, Differential Global Positioning System (DGPS) Map etc. Meanwhile the inconclusive hearing on the alleged violation of the Rule 37, of the MCR act 1960’ will also be proceeded.

During the first phase hearing on 16th of March, the Commission had asked the miners to come up with the blue-prints of their developmental works and had said that it is ready to recommend the union government to forgive the minor violations of the miners if they carry out remarkable developmental works in the Keonjhar and Sundargarh districts. The commission is scheduled to examine the blue prints of the miners today.
