Iran one of the largest exporter of semi-finished steel in world has exported around 2,032,000 MT of Slab during the first nine months of current Persian year (21 Mar-21 Dec’2017), registered a growth of 134% Y-o-Y against 867,000 MT in last Persian year. Major exporters of slab during the period were Khouzastan Steel Company which exported around 499,452 MT and HOSCO with total export of 851,138 MT in current Persian year.
Billet and bloom export went up by around 52% Y-o-Y. The nation exported 2,582,000 MT billet and bloom in current Persian year against 1,698,000 MT exported in last Persian year. Major exporters of billet and bloom were KSC which exported around 613,242 MT billets and 861,726 MT blooms. South Kaveh steel exported around 548,000 MT billet in current Persian year.
DRI export increased remarkably by around 400% Y-o-Y, the nation exported around 517,000 MT DRI in current Persian year against 105,000 MT exported in last Persian year.
Flat product export decreased significantly in current Persian year. HRC exports were down by 55% Y-o-Y in current Persian year. The nation exported around 440,000 MT in current Persian year against 978,000 MT exported in last Persian year. On parallel lines, the nation exported 8,000 MT CRC in current Persian year, registered a downfall of 94% Y-o-Y.
Export of Rebar witnessed a growth of 33% in 9 months of current Persian year. The nation exported 204,000 MT of rebar in current Persian year against 153,000 MT exported in previous year. Export of wire rod increased by around 300% in current Persian year. The nation exported 193,000 MT in current Persian year against 47,000 MT. The nation exported 129,000 MT of beam in current Persian year, registered a downfall of 19% Y-o-Y.
ESCO was the major long steel exporter during the current Persian year. Rebar export by the company was noted to be around 115,451 MT, beam and coil exported during the period was 80,343 MT and 48,589 MT respectively. Khorasan Steel Company exported 81,623 MT of rebar during the period.

HOSCO and KSC Sold Slab in IME
KSC offered 40,000 MT slab in IME and sold 37,950 MT for IRR 19,500/KG on 08/01/2017. Whereas HOSCO sold 30,000 MT slab in Iran mercantile exchange at IRR 19,050/KG on 09/01/2018.
