India: Bid premium falls at WCL’s spot coal auction in Dec’22

Western Coalfields Ltd (WCL), a subsidiary of Coal India Ltd (CIL), had conducted an auction for 326,950 t of coal on 16 Dec. Almost the entire quantity was booked at a price realisation of INR 5,502/t, fetching a premium of 130% over the notified price. Notably, bid premium fell compared to 193% in November.
