USA: RMDAS ferrous scrap index witnesses drop m-o-m in Jan’24

The RMDAS ferrous scrap index, which reflects the US spot market prices for steel mills and foundries, has dropped in Jan’24. The index witnessed the following drops: Shredded scrap has gone down by $6/t to $463/t. Prompt industrial composite scrap was dropped by $14/t to $504/t. The HMS index also decreased by $1/t to $396/t.
