US: Billet imports fall nearly 20% m-o-m in August
The US’s steel billet imports declined by 18.79% m-o-m in Aug’22 to 233,595 t from 287,655 t in July, as per customs data. Brazil was the largest exporter at 122,403 t, followed by Mexico at 79,472 t. Total imports fell 32% to 2.53 mnt y-o-y in Jan-Aug’22 as against 3.70 mnt in the year-ago period.
