South Korea’s hot-rolled steel exports up 4% y-o-y in Sept’24

South Korea exported 402,780 t of hot-rolled (HR) steel in Sept’24, according to the Korea Iron and Steel Association. This represents an increase of 4.2% y-o-y while, m-o-m, exports rose by 2.5%. This is the first time since Dec’23 that export volumes have exceeded 400,000 t. Meanwhile, cumulative exports in Jan-Sept’24 were over 3 mnt.
