South Korean steel major, Hyundai steel, has recently purchased 15,000 t of ferrous scrap HMS 1&2(80:20) at $475/t CFR. The company seems to be preferring New Zealand-origin scrap over US-origin material owing to the steep hike in freight charges due to a sudden eruption in COVID cases, as per the latest reports by Steel daily.
