South Korea: Steel mill cuts domestic scrap purchase price by $8/t

Major Korean steel mill, Dongkuk’s Pohang Steel is set to lower scrap procurement prices for all grades by KRW 10,000/t ($8/t), as per SteelDaily reports. Dongkuk will lower purchase prices effective from 9 Dec’21. Korean mills are not very active in booking fresh slots as global market trends remain highly volatile at present.
