South Korea’s steel billet exports rose 4.43% m-o-m in May’22 to 31,840 t from 30,488 t in Apr, as per customs data. Japan was the major importer at 15,160 t. However, export volumes fell sharply by 57% to 107,225 t on the year in Jan-May’22 as against 247,208 t in the year-ago period.
