India: Vizag Steel’s pig iron auction fails to attract participation

Leading state-owned steel producer, Vizag Steel, conducted an auction for 1,000 t of basic grade pig iron on 19 Jan’22. The base price was set at INR 41,500/t. However, buyers showed no interest and only one lot was booked at INR 41,550/t exw. The company’s management may cancel the auction due to subdued response.
