    USA: Coal production touches 44 mnt in Jan’22

    The USA’s coal production stood at 44 mnt in Jan’22, data from the country’s Energy Ministry showed. Weather-related disruptions affected output last month. Demand, however, continued to grow amid rising natural gas prices. The Ministry has forecast coal output to increase by 6% in 2022 as coal-fired electricity generators in the USA rebuild inventory levels.
