South Africa: Merafe’s ferro chrome production up 4% in Jan-Sep’22

South Africa’s ferro chrome smelter Merafe recorded production at 286,000 t in Jan-Sep’22, a rise of 4% y-o-y. The rise in output was the result of an increase in production from Glencore-Merafe Chrome Venture in Q3CY22 on improved plant efficiency. Production in Q3CY22 stood 84,000 t, up 9% compared to 77,000 t in Q3CY21.
