India: SteelMint steel scrap index rises by INR 700/t amid supply crunch

SteelMint’s domestic steel scrap (end-cutting) index moved up by INR 700/tonne (t) to INR 44,400/t DAP Mandi Gobindgarh on 23 June 2022. Light melting scrap (LMS) prices were assessed at INR 39,600/t, HMS 80:20 at INR 42,300/t and CR busheling scrap at INR 46,200/t. Scrap availability in the market is very low as GST checks…
