Japan: Coking coal imports rise by 15% in Nov, highest in 2022

Japan’s coking coal imports rose by 15% m-o-m to 3.98 mnt in Nov’22, the highest in CY22. The rise came amid recovery in demand from automobile industry. Shipments from the US increased by 76% and Indonesia by 63% in Nov. However, shipments from Australia fell by 12% due to supply issues in the country.
