India’s steel exports took a major hit since the 15% tax was slapped in the third week of May. Volumes, which averaged 1.5 mnt per month, plunged to 0.50 mnt in August as per SteelMint data and are expected to sustain at these levels till the export levy is withdrawn and global markets recover.
