India: HCL to invest INR 5,500 crore for expanding copper ore mining to over 20 mnt

Copper ore producer Hindustan Copper Ltd. (HCL) has planned an investment of INR 5,500 crore for expansion of its ore capacity five-fold from 3.97 mnt to 20.2 mnt by FY’28-29. The state-run company owns copper ore mines in Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand and Rajasthan. HCL’s copper ore production in FY’22 sat at 3.38 mnt till Feb.
