China: Steel billet prices down despite rise in rebar futures

Steel billet prices in China’s Tangshan decreased by RMB 30/t ($4/t) on 19 May 2022. Prices stood at RMB 4,490/t ($666/t), inclusive of 13% VAT. According to data maintained with SteelMint, China’s SHFE rebar futures contract for October 2022 delivery was closed today at RMB 4,579/t ($679/t), witnessing a rise of RMB 47/t ($7/t), d-o-d.
