Hot rolled coil prices in Tangshan dropped 4% m-o-m in March to RMB 3,294/t ($455/t). If compared to January 2024 levels, then HRC prices have dipped over 5%. Similarly, rebar prices were down 5% in March to RMB 3,670/t ($507/t) compared to the January-February levels. Squeezed margins and lower realisations further encouraged exports.
