In Jan-Feb’22, China imported 35.4 mnt of coal and lignite, a year-on-year decrease of 14%, as per data from the General Administration of Customs (GAC). China’s government has laid significant emphasis on domestic self-sufficiency, especially after the coal crisis and power crunch in Q3CY’21.
