India: Alang’s melting scrap prices hold steady d-o-d
The ship-breaking scrap market in Alang, Gujarat, remained stable on 18 Mar’25. BigMint assessed HMS (80:20) at INR 33,600/t ($387/t) ex-yard. In yesterday’s trading session, there were decent scrap buying inquiries due to moderate demand; additionally, semi-finished steel prices held steady. As a result, suppliers chose not to alter their offers today.
