India: Sponge iron prices inch lower in Bellary, Karnataka

Around 1,400 t of pellet-based sponge iron (PDRI) deals were confirmed at INR 33,400-33,600/t against offers at INR 33,800/t exw Bellary, Karnataka today. Around 2,620 t of iron ore-based DRI (CDRI) deals were reported at INR 33,700-34,000/t ($450-454/t) exw. Comparatively low buying interest and relatively poor demand weighed on the sponge market today.
