Bangladesh: Imported scrap prices drop on limited enquiries
SteelMint’s assessment for shredded scrap from the UK/EU is being offered at $550-560/t CFR Chittagong, down by $5/t w-o-w. Offers for UK-origin HMS 1/2 (80:20) are at $520/t CFR, down by $2-3/t compared to last week. Bearish steel demand, liquidity issues and subdued trading amid the year-end lull are weighing on the containerised scrap market.
