Global rice output projections revised upward to record high in 2025-26

The FAO projects world rice output to reach a record 556.4 mnt (milled basis) in 2025-26, up 1 mnt from earlier estimates. While Pakistan’s forecast was reduced by 0.6 mnt due to floods in Punjab, a 1.6 mnt increase in India’s output more than offsets the decline.
