Odisha Chrome Ore Dispatches Decreases by 4% in Sep’17

Dispatches of chrome ore by Odisha miners have decreased by around 4% in Sep’17 against Aug’17.

Odisha contributes entirely towards Indian Chrome Ore production. TATA Steel, being, one of the largest miners in the region dispatched 73,476 MT of chrome ore in Sep’17 against 100,759 MT in Aug’17. The company has witnessed a substantial decrease of about 27% in the dispatch of the commodity on M-o-M basis. TATA Steel held 9,299 MT for captive consumption in Sep’17 which is around 103% higher than it was in Aug’17.

OMC, on the other hand, recorded a substantial increase of 42% M-o-M in its Sep’17 Chrome Ore dispatches. OMC dispatched 102,769 MT of Chrome Ore in Sep’17 against 72,457 MT in Aug’17. Jindal Stainless was the major buyer of Chrome Ore from OMC in Sep’17.
