Tata Steel – India’s 3rd largest steel producer in terms of steel production has reported 18% hike in its its crude steel output to 5.98 MnT in H1FY18 as compared to 5.06 MnT in similar time frame of previous year.
On Q-o-Q basis company’s crude steel production rose marginally by 2% to 3.02 MnT in Q2 FY18 against 2.96 MnT in Q1 FY18. However on yearly basis company’s crude steel output went up by 11% from 2.72 MnT in Q2FY17.
Tata Steel sales performance zoomed by 23% in H1 FY18
Company’s sales performance moved up by whopping 23% to 5.88 MnT in first half of 2017 against 4.77 MnT in H1FY17. On quarterly basis the same stood at 3.13 MnT in Q2 FY18 against 2.75 MnT in Q1FY18 , up by 14%.
On Y-o-Y basis company sales grew by 19% in Q2 FY18 against 2.62 MnT in Q2FY17.
Key performance highlights-
1. The company’s Blast furnace has achieved best ever production of 2.8 MnT in Q2FY18 against previous best at 2.66 MnT in Q2FY16.
2. Company’s Sinter plant achieved best ever production of 2.09 MnT in Q2FY18 compared to its previous best which was 1.97 MnT in Q2FY16.
3. Cold rolling Mill declared best ever production of 0.51 MnT in Q2FY18 against previous best of 0.46 MnT in Q2 FY15 at Jamshedpur Plant.
4.Hi-end product sales for automotive segment has achieved the growth of 20% on yearly basis.
