According to the latest customs data released, Japan flat steel exports which includes 7208 (HR coils /Plates), 7209 (CR coils), 7225 (Electrical sheets), 7210/7212(GP/GC) stood at 2.22 MnT in Aug’17 against 1.98 MnT in Jul’17.Thus nation’s flat steel exports rose significantly by 12% on monthly basis in Aug’17.
However on yearly basis Japan flat steel exports declined by 13% in Aug’17 against Aug’16.Nation has exported 2.54 MnT of flat steel in Aug’16.
During first eight months (Jan-Aug) of 2017,Japan flat steel exports moved down by 10% to 17.06 MnT as compared to 18.88 MnT in similar time frame of previous year.

China remained the major importer of flat steel in Aug’17-China was the major flat steel importer from Japan and has imported 2.79 MnT of flat steel (40% of share ) of share in Aug’17. Other major flat steel importing countries from Japan include Thailand accounted for 16% of share,South Korea at 13% followed by Mexico at 7% and Vietnam at 7 % in Aug’17.
