The 5th largest iron ore exporter Canada has exported 4.01 MnT iron ore in Jul’17 as per trade statistics released by Canadian Customs. Iron ore export has increased by 22% M-o-M as it was 3.29 MnT in June’17. It was also registered 18% up Y-o-Y compared with same month last year, which was at 3.41 MnT then.
In the first seven month of 2017 the country has exported 22.32 MnT iron ore which is 2% down compared to the same period last year, which was at 22.87 MnT then.
Agglomerated (pellets and concentrate) has registered 1.36 MnT for Jul’17 up 17% compared to Jun’17 which was at 1.16 MnT then. It was observed that export was 6% down Y-o-Y compared to same month last year .The total exports of 8.72 MnT for the first seven month of 2017 were down 6% compared to the same period last year which were at 9.26 MnT.
The Non-agglomerated ore (Lumps and Fines) exported were at 2.65 MnT up 24% M-o-M compared to month of Jun’17 which was at 2.13 MnT and it was up by 35% Y-o-Y as well against the quantity of last year Jul’16.In the first seven month of 2017 Non-agglomerated ore (Lumps and Fines) was exported 13.59 MnT down 0.15% compared to same period last year 2016 which was 13.61 then.
1. China was largest Iron ore importer for the month of Jul’17 with 0.68 MnT up 17% M-o-M against the Jun’17 which was 0.58 MnT. The nation had imported 0.36 MnT iron ore in Jul’16.
2. Netherland was the second largest importer with the quantity of 0.65 MnT iron ore in Jul’17 up by more than 3 times M-o-M against 0.19 MnT in Jun’17. The nation had imported 0.61 MnT iron ore in the month of Jul’16.
3. France turned out to be the third largest importer with 0.58 MnT quantity for the month for Jul’17 up 49% M-o-M compared to the month of Jun’17 which was 0.39 MnT. The nation had imported 0.67 MnT iron ore in the month of Jul’16.
