According to USA customs data, USA flat steel imports which includes (7208 HR coils/Plates,7209 CR coils, 7210, 7212 GP/GC and 7225 electrical sheets) registered the decline by 4%, on monthly basis to 1.16 MnT in Jul’17 as compared to 1.21 MnT in Jun’17.
On yearly basis, nation’s flat steel imports was slightly down by 0.8% in Jul’17 against Jul’16. In Jul’16 the same stood at 1.15 MnT.
During first seven months (Jan-Jul) of CY17 country’s flat steel imports recorded at 7.09 MnT,increased by by 4.5% as compared to 6.78 MnT in similar time-frame of previous year.

Country-wise USA Flat Steel Imports in Jul’17-Canada was the major flat steel importer from USA and has imported 0.25 MnT in Jul’17. During Jan-Jul’17 Canada has occupied 25% share of imports from USA .Other countries include Korea,Taiwan followed by Mexico and Turkey.
