US wire rod imports
have been declining for six consecutive months, according to Census Bureau data.
November’s preliminary import count stood at 42,228 tonnes, a nearly 37%
decrease month-over-month and a 50% decrease year-over-year.
Brazilian wire rod exports to the US fell to 4,138 t in November, a 75% drop
from October’s 16,713 t, according to license data. US rod imports from Mexico
also fell to 1,310 t from 4,477 t in October.
