Singareni Collieries Company Ltd (SCCL) has registered a growth in coal production by 7% Y-o-Y to 4.52 MnT in Aug’17 in comparison with 4.22 MnT in Aug’16.
Monthly coal production has also increased in Aug’17 after falling for the past two months. Despite the incessant rains which affected coal mining at 4 open cast projects in Ramagundem region, the company managed to increase its production by 3% M-o-M in Aug’17 compared with 4.4 MnT in Jul’17.
Total coal production during FY18 (Apr’17-Aug’17) has reached 23.26 MnT, with an increase of 5% compared with 22.16 MnT coal production achieved during Apr’16-Aug’16.
Coal Dispatch:
SCCL’s coal dispatch has marginally fallen during the month. Coal dispatch was recorded at 4.81 MnT in Aug’17 compared with 4.85 MnT in Jul’17. While Coal dispatch in Aug’17 was still 8% higher than the level achieved during the same month in 2016.
Total coal dispatch during FY18 (Apr’17-Aug’17) has increased 12% Y-o-Y to 25.25 MnT, compared with 22.47 MnT in Apr’16-Aug’16 period. The company thus achieved 96% of the total dispatch target of 26.4 MnT set for the period.
