India: Domestic Plate Prices Remain Unaltered over Slow Buying

Domestic plate prices remain unchanged this week owing to thin buying and slow demand in the domestic market.However major Indian mills are planning to raise the prices of plates further by INR 1000-1500/MT in the month of Sep’17.

Plate prices are expected to increase in the wake of higher raw material costs and rising global prices leads to uptrend of domestic plate prices in Indian market.

Currently reference prices of plates are heard in the range of INR 37,000-37,500/MT (ex-Mill).The prices mentioned above are basic prices excluding GST @ 18%.

However reference prices (basic) for plates (5-10 mm, IS 2062) remained unchanged for this week and are heard at INR 38,000-38,500/ MT (ex-Delhi) and INR 38,000/MT (ex-Mumbai).The prices mentioned above are basic prices excluding GST @ 18%.

India exported 0.09 MnT of plate in Q1FY18-According to provisional data maintained by JPC(Joint Plant Committee Data) nation has exported 0.09 MnT of plates in Apr-Jun’17,higher by 50% against 0.06 MnT in similar time-frame of previous year.Belgium,Portugal and Spain were the major destinations for exports in Q1FY18.
