Dispatches of chrome ore by Odisha miners have increased substantially by almost 33% in Jul’17 against Jun’17.
Odisha contributes entirely towards Indian Chrome Ore production. TATA Steel, being one of the largest miners in the region dispatched 101,324 MT of chrome ore in Jul’17 against 69,432 MT in Jun’17. The company has witnessed a substantial increase of about 46% in dispatch of the commodity on M-o-M basis. TATA Steel only held 8,040 MT for captive consumption in Jul’17 which is around 15% lower than it was in Jun’17.
OMC on the other hand, recorded a marginal increase of 1% M-o-M in its Jul’17 chrome ore dispatches. OMC dispatched 48,238 MT of Chrome Ore in Jul’17 against 47,676 MT in Jun’17.
