Australia: Newcastle Port Shipment slipped by 19.1% W-o-W

Worlds leading coal exporting Newcastle port has reported that their shipment on last week ended on 19th Aug '13 slipped by 19.1% as compared to preceding week which ended on 12th Aug '13 as per report. In the week ended on the 19th August, port has shipped around 2.3 MnT of coal and total 7.3 MnT of coal has been shipped to the different destination.

For the month of August 2013 port's forecasted to ship around 11.4 MnT of coal including coking and thermal coal. Whereas, as per port authority actual shipping for this month plus projected balance from coal terminal would ship around 12.8 MnT of coal this month.

The port has also reported that during the week ended on 19th August 2013, 18 vessels entered at port for loading with an average waiting time of 5.27 days, Whereas, just preceding week 31 vessels entered at port with an average waiting time of 5.69 days. 

At the week ended on 19th August, in port, 2 vessels loading coal, 7 vessels were waiting to load and 55 vessels were expected to reach at the port.

Australian 6000 Kcal/Kg NAR,  Non-coking coal is trading at USD 76-77/MT FOB level and the Premium grade hard coking coal (Ash-10.3%, VM-20.7%, CSR-74%) price has moved up and now trading at USD 143-146/MT range.
