According to preliminary custom data, Brazilian Manganese Ore export witnessed a substantial increase of 56% to around 0.39 MnT in Jul’17, as compared to the previous month. In Jun’17, the Brazilian Manganese Ore stood at 0.25 MnT.
Moreover, Brazilian Manganese Ore export volume hit a 2-year high in Jul’17. Brazil recorded a mammoth hike of 388% Y-o-Y against Jul’16 exports, and an increase of 117% against Jul’15 exports.
China’s Appetite for Manganese Ore
China stands out to be the largest importer of Brazilian manganese ore which imported 0.32 MnT in Jul’17, followed by Uruguay and Argentina. China imported more than 80% of the total Manganese Ore exported by Brazil. China witnessed a substantial increase of 60% M-o-M in its Brazilian Manganese Ore imports in Jul’17.
Global Scenario of Manganese Ore
Improved demand of Manganese Ore and rising Silico Manganese prices in China has been holding the Manganese Ore prices firm around the globe. Moreover, in line with strong steel fundamentals in China, Manganese Ore prices are expected to correct upwards.
