COAL EXPORTS FROM KEMBLA PORT FALLS

In July’17, coal export from the Port Kembla Coal Terminal in Australia had fallen by around 12% to around 494,942 MT from 562,890 MT in Jun’17. The decline in the exports had resulted from the shrinkage in production due to South32 suspending its Appin mine due to higher gas concentrations.

ANGLO AMERICAN RECORDS LOWER COKING COAL OUTPUT

In Q2 2017, Anglo American had produced 18.2% lesser Coking Coal, at 4 MnT, from 4.9 MnT in Q2 2016. The decline in the production was a consequence of the Debbie cyclone impact. However, the company recorded a marginally higher Coking Coal production in H1 2017, at 9.2 MnT, from the production of 9 MnT in H2 2016.
