Trade statistics released by the fourth largest iron ore exporter Ukraine customs show that the iron ore exports by the country were up by 4% in May’17. The country exported around 3.56 MnT iron ore in May’17 against 3.56 MnT in Apr’17.
The country’s exports for the May’17 were up 9% Y-o-Y as well for the corresponding month previous year, the country exported 3.38 MnT iron ore in May’16.
For the first five months of 2017 Ukraine exported 11% down quantity with 15.72 MnT iron ore against the quantity of 17.64 MnT for the same period last year.
The non-agglomerated iron ore (lumps and fines) exports in May’17 were registered at 2.6 MnT, down by 5.5% compared to Apr’17 which were at 2.75 MnT. However, it was up 19% Y-o-Y for the month of May compared to last year, as it was 2.19.
The agglomerated iron ore (pellets and concentrate) exports in May’17 were registered at 1.10 MnT up by 33% compared to Apr’17 which was at 0.83 MnT but down 8% Y-o-Y compared to Jun’16 as it was 1.19 MnT. The largest importer of Ukrainian iron ore is China.
