The Anthracite Coal market in India continues to remain at a sluggish state, with almost no affinity among the buyers in the country for importing the coal.
International offers also have not undergone changes in the recent past. The latest offer for Anthracite Coal is reported at around USD 130/MT CFR India, which is unchanged from the week-ago offer.

The lackluster demand has been an outcome of the preference of the users of the coal to use alternate fuels. Moreover, there is also no prospect for the demand for the coal to revive in the country in the future.
IMPORTS
Anthracite Coal imports in India have been insignificant due to the weak demand. According to the data compiled by CoalMint Research, only 67,430 MT of the coal was imported into the country during the 1-17July’17 period.
The importers were: Jindal Steel & Power Limited, and Tata Steel Limited.
