Mangalore based pellet making company – KIOCL is to export 50,000 MT pellets to China. According to market sources report to SteelMint, the pellet maker has sold pellets to a southern India based trading house which will be finally routed to China.
Participants reported that the pellet maker has finalized the export deal at around USD 89/MT, FoB basis for end Jul’17 shipment.
KIOCL pellet exports zoom in Q1 FY18 – According to customs data maintained with SteelMint, KIOCL pellet exports in Q1 FY18 summed up to 162,000 MT against 55,000 MT in Q1 FY17. The pellet maker exported material in Q1 FY18 to countries like South Korea, Malaysia etc.
KIOCL runs a pellet plant of 3.5 MnT pa capacity in Mangalore.
Recently Odisha based pellet maker – JSPL concluded deals for export of two vessels of 50,000 MT each to China at USD 97/MT, CFR China to be shipped in Aug’17, higher by USD 3-4/MT against previous deal.
