According to the latest customs data, South Korea flat steel imports which includes 7208 (HR coils /Plates),7209 (CR coils), 7225 (Electrical sheets),7210/7212(GP/GC) have fallen by 9%,Y-o-Y basis in Jun’17 and stood at 0.93 MnT as compared to 1.02 MnT in Jun’16.
On monthly basis, South Korean flat steel imports jumped by 4.4% in Jun’17 against May’17. In May’17 the same stood at 0.89 MnT.
In first half of 2017 country’s flat steel imports rose by 0.17% to 5.65 MnT against 5.64 MnT in similar time-frame of previous year.

Country-wise South Korea Flat Steel imports in Jun’17
China remained the major flat steel exporter to South Korea and accounts for 65% of share in Jun’17 .Other major countries include Japan with 30% share followed by Taiwan with share of 3% in Jun’17
