Indian mills are likely to raise the plate export offers in line with rising Chinese plate prices.With the motive to have larger sales volumes ,Indian exporters are rigorously focusing on global market.
Current plate exports from India is heard around USD 500-505/MT,FoB India .Market participants also shared that 10,000 MT plates have been exported last week to Europe in the range of USD 540/MT CFR Europe.
Demand for Indian plate remained optimistic in Europe owing to imposition of anti dumping duties on plates of China.This also pushes the Indian exporters to raise the prices.
Indian Plate Export offers Remained Static in domestic market-Indian plate prices remained stable this week after the hike of INR 1000/MT post GST implementation in domestic market.Buying inquiries have increased as traders are busy restocking the inventories in the domestic market.
In major markets, reference prices (basic) for plates (5-10 mm, IS 2062) are hovering in the range of INR 35,000/MT (ex-Delhi) and INR 35,600-35,700/MT (ex-Mumbai).The prices mentioned above are basic prices excluding GST @ 18%.
China-Plate Export Offers Pushes Up On Further Gains in Domestic Market.
Chinese plate export offers went up this week again by USD 5-7/MT over further gains in the domestic market.Chinese manufacturers remained optimistic about plate prices owing to strong demand for plates in the domestic market.
Current plate export offers are assessed in the range of USD 465-475/MT, FoB China.Last week the prices was in the range of USD 460-468/MT,FoB basis.
Meanwhile domestic prices of plate are assessed in the range of RMB 3,500-3,520/MT which is equivalent to USD 504-507/MT including VAT.
Major mills are quoting plate export offers in the range of USD 480/MT,FoB basis.Some deals have been settled with Malaysia in the range of USD 480/MT on FoB basis.
