According to USA customs data, USA flat steel imports which includes (7208 HR coils/Plates,7209 CR coils, 7210, 7212 GP/GC and 7225 electrical sheets) rose significantly by 9.2%, on monthly basis to 1.06 MnT in May’17 as compared to 0.97 MnT in Apr’17.
On yearly basis, nation’s flat steel imports rises by 10.4% in May’17 against May’16. In May’16 the same stood at 0.96 MnT.
During first five months of 2017 (Jan-May) country’s flat steel imports moved up by 2.1% to 4.72 MnT as compared to 4.62 MnT in similar time-frame of previous year.

Country-wise USA Flat Steel Imports in May’17-Canada was the major flat steel exporter to USA and accounts for 27.98% in May’17 .Other major countries include Korea,Taiwan followed by Mexico and Turkey.
